Telefónica launches 3DTV in Peru
Telefónica’s DSL pay-TV operator has Movistar Imagenio launched a 3D TV channel in Peru through its Peruvian subsidiary Movistar TV.
The 3D TV channel will offer trailers, films and documentaries in exclusive and all in 3D from 7 to 9 p.m. In addition, Movistar TV has reached a strategic alliance with Movie City -another leader of Latin America’s pay-TV market to offer an exclusive film library in 3D in its news signal.
Said José Miguel Gamero, the company’s CEO:” Our 3D TV channel is the only one in the region and it will be part of the HDTV packages we currently offer to our digital service’s clients.”
Regarding this alliance Ignacio Landeta, commercial manager at Moviecity, declared that “We are very happy to be able to give our 3D films through Movistar in Peru. It is very important to open a new technological window so all this content reaches our subscribers. This initiative will be very well welcomed by those having this technology.”
