Miami-based Latino sales company Ondamax Films has sold a 10-film package to Spanish-language premium paybox Cine Latino, which can be found both in the U.S. and Latin America.
Deal takes in Mexican actor-director Walter Doehner‘s migrant drama “Teo’s Journey”; Mexican Antonio Zavala‘s erotic drama “Deseo,” co-written by Paula Markovitch (“The Prize”); and “Perpetuum Mobile,” from Mexican Nicolas Perez (“Summer of Goliath”), about a truck driver. Also included are the Canana/Buena Onda-produced “Cochochi,” set in Mexico’s Sierra Tarahumara, from Laura Amelia Guzman and Israel Cardenas (“Jean Gentil”); and Bolivian helmer-scribe Rodrigo Bellott‘s “Who Killed the White Llama?” a road movie comedy and B.O. hit in Bolivia.
Price paid for the 10 pics was a “good six figures,” said Ondamax CEO Eric Mathis.
Pact is one of the biggest deals closed at the 26th Guadalajara Festival in Mexico, which wrapped Saturday.
It is also the second deal between Ondamax and Cine Latino. A third agreement, for seven to 10 titles, is now under negotiation.
“Cine Latino is dealing in the same content and same target. It’s a win-win situation,” Mathis said.
