The best of Latin American cinema returns to Canberra
From March 1 – 5, 2010, the Embassies of the Latin American countries in Canberra in collaboration with the National Museum of Australia will present the ‘6th Latin American Film Festival in Australia’ (LAFF).
Entry to all LAFF films will be free of charge. There will be 2 films per day at 6pm and 8pm.
To delight the Australian public, the Latin American diplomatic missions in Canberra, which include Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Cube, Mexico, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela, will present a selection of the best films that each country’s cinema has to offer. The chosen films include international award winning pieces from recent releases in Latin American cinema.
The LAFF launches at 6pm, March 1 with the Venezuelan film, ‘Manuela Saenz,’ which enjoyed an excellent reception and acclaim at the Venice Film Festival.
