“The Empty Nest” winner of the Habana’s Film Festival

The Hispano-Peruvian film “The Empty Nest” by Claudia Llosa, today won the first prize for feature film Youth Film Festival of La Havana. The second prize “Coral” in this category corresponded to the Chilean-Mexican “Nana” by Sebastián Silva, and the third at the Brazilian “I travel because I need, I go back because I love you”, by Marcelo Gomes, Karim Aïnouz. The festival jury awarded a special prize for the Argentine-Spanish film “The secret of your eyes” by Juan Jose Campanella, who also won the awards for best director and best actor with Ricardo Darin. The distinction of best female actress was to Catalina Saavedra ( “Nana”) and best screenplay for Sabine Berman ( “The backyard”, by Carlos Carrera). The prize for best photography conquered Ricardo Della Rosa, “Adrift” by Heitor Dhalia, and Best Art Direction, Susana Torres, Patricia Well, “The Empty Nest.” The award for best sound for feature films was Waldir Xavier Cruz and Ricardo ( “I travel because I need, I go back because I love you”) and the best original music for Federico Jusid ( “The secret of their eyes”). The first prize for short films won the “To apologize,” the Brazilian Iberê Carvalho, with honorable mention for the Cuban-Brazilian film “The minutes, hours “by Marques Janaina Ribeiro. The award for best” debut “was to” Huacho “(Chile, France and Germany), Alejandro Fernandez Almonds.
