Amigos del Cine Latinoamericano presents Fall 2009 Film Series: “Cine de Género” (Genre Films)
For the fall 2009 Amigos del Cine Latinoamericano film series opening reception at 6:30 p.m. in the Frick Fine Arts Cloister. The film series starts at 7:30 p.m., in the Frick Fine Arts Auditorium, with “Actores Secundarios” (Chile, 2004) a documentary on the history of the student movement of the 1980s which opposed the dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet (directed by Pachi Bustos and Jorge Leiva).
This fall, from September 9 to December 10, 2009, Amigos del Cine Latinoamericano will present genre films (cine de género), including science fiction, author films (cine de autor), psychological, social and historical drama, comedy, and masked-wrestler (películas de luchador).
FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
Some films are adult in nature and may not be appropriate for young audiences.
Except for the weeks of September 9 and November 4, most films will take place on Thursdays @ 7:30 p.m. in the Frick Fine Arts Auditorium, University Pittsburgh.
