Acclaimed Cuban film school trains its focus on ‘cinema and life’
Inside the main building of the International School of Film and Television (EICTV) in Cuba, the atmosphere is a mixture of warm conviviality and frenetic hard work.
Each year, around 500 applicants from more than 30 countries compete for just 42 places on its internationally accredited diploma programme.
The three-year course allows students to specialise in one of seven disciplines – directing, scriptwriting, documentary-making, editing, production, cinematography or sound. (more…)
Cuban film season opened in Cairo
A week of Cuban cinema at the Egyptian Centre of International Cultural Cooperation was opeed on November 19.
Due to the strong links between the Cuban Embassy in El Cairo and the Sector of International Cultural Relationships of the Egyptian Cultural Ministry and following a proposal made by the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry (ICAIC, after its initials in Spanish), was opened the week of Cuban cinema at the Egyptian Centre of International Cultural Cooperation.
