A traveling sideshow made up of a magician, a strongman, and an exotic dancer stops in rural villages hoping to mesmerize the townspeople out of whatever money they may have. When a young accordionist becomes enamored of the show’s exotic dancer, he and his pregnant wife join the show as it sets off deeper into the country’s interior.

The City in Focus of Taipei Film Festival (TaipeiFF) is Rio de Janeiro in Brazil this year. Therefore many selective films and filmmakers of Brazil are invited to Taipei, including the leading star, José WILKER, of Brazilian classic Bye Bye Brazil, the Director in Focus – Suzana AMARAL, and the director of From Beginning to End – Aluisio ABRANCHES.
