U.S. and Germany-based D Street Media Group has acquired Argentine film production and sales company Americine as the distribution and production house pushes into Latin America.
D Street founder and CEO Dexter Davis said he plans to build Americine’s Latin American-focused catalog to offer a global selection of titles; step up production and co-productions in Latin America and Europe via Americine; and distribute its titles through its U.S. division in North America.
Americine’s first production will be “Road to New Orleans,” to be directed by Argentina’s Fabian Iriarte, who also penned the script.
Javier Krause will run Americine, which has offices in Argentina, Brazil, Mexico and Uruguay and representatives elsewhere in the region.
D Street recently produced John G. Young‘s “Rivers Wash Over Me” and is development on Alexander Witt‘s “The Blue Mauritius.”
