The 31st International Festival of New Latin American Cinema will be officially inaugurated today with a cultural gala and the screening of the Spanish-Argentinean film ‘El secreto de sus ojos’ by Juan Jose Campanella at the Karl Marx Theater in Havana.Two figures of the Cuban music, Grammy award winners pianist Chucho Valdas and singer Omara Portuondo, will perform in this opening gala of one of the most important events of the so-called seventh art in Latin America.
The Festival’s organizing committee announced that the opening will be broadcast live in a screen that will be placed in the Pabellón Cuba exhibit center in the centrally-located 23 street in Vedado.
The Latin American Film Festival will run until December 13 with screening of the best films produced this year in Brazil, Mexico, Chile, Uruguay, Peru, Argentina and the host.
